NEW HERE?
YOU’RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE.
Sometimes the hardest part of working out is showing up for the first time. So here’s a guide to all the stuff people secretly stress about: what class to take, where to park, what to bring, whether you need to be a good dancer (you don’t), and whether people are nice here (they are).
Here’s everything you need to know before your first Fitcidence class.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
01
PICK YOUR FIRST CLASS.
You really can’t go wrong. Every Fitcidence class is beginner-friendly, and no dance experience is required.
We’re a workout studio, not a dance studio. Our classes are designed to be followed along with—not to perfect your technique or memorize choreography. Pick something that sounds fun, keep moving, and get a good sweat.
02
PICK A PACKAGE.
Not sure how much Fitcidence you want in your life yet? That’s what our intro offers are for.
Start with our 2-for-1 Intro Pack.

Love it here? Choose an 8-class or unlimited membership based on how often Fitcidence fits into your routine.
03
WHAT TO BRING.
Wear something you’re comfortable moving and sweating in. Sneakers are best for our dance and cardio classes; grippy socks are optional for Sculpt and Barre Sculpt.
We provide the mats, weights, and equipment. Bring water! We have a bottle filler at the studio.
One more thing: while we try to keep the music at a safe volume for you always, the music can still get a loud for some folks. We provide free earplugs, or bring your favorite reusable pair if you have them.
04
FINDING THE STUDIO.
We’re located at 2921 E 17th St in East Austin, inside the building at the corner of E 17th and Miriam Ave.
Come about 5-10 minutes early for your first class so you have plenty of time to park, find us, and get settled.
FREE PARKING. YES, REALLY.
The garage entrance is behind the studio. You’ll need to drive around the building to the back to find it.
Your confirmation email includes the code you'll need to get in and out.
How to park:
Enter the garage directly behind the studio by inputting the code (*included in your reservation confirmation email) at the keypad near the entry gate (You'll have to exit your car to do this. Make sure to leave space between your car and the gate, as it opens outwards.)
Exiting the garage/Getting to Class:
Exit the garage on foot by entering code (*included in your reservation confirmation email) at the keypad near the stairway closest to the entry gate. Go up one flight of stairs, exit, and you'll see the door to the outside on your right.
After Class:
When you exit the studio, turn right, then right again enter code (*included in your reservation confirmation email) again to open the garage door (be careful descending the ramp on foot!). To exit, simply approach the exit garage gate with your car—it's motion-activated, no code needed!
STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?
-
Yes! We promise. Fitcidence is a workout studio, not a technique-focused dance studio. Our classes are designed to be followed along with, which means you’re copying the instructor as you go—not memorizing choreography or trying to perfect every move.
Get lost? Keep moving. Focus on the feet first and add the arms when you’re ready. Take modifications, skip a move, or do your own thing for a minute. As long as you’re moving, you’re doing it right.
And the lights are low. Seriously. No one is looking at you.
-
You’re in very good company. Lots of people come to their first Fitcidence class alone, and we’re incredibly proud of the kind, welcoming community that has grown here.
Want to meet people? Come a little early, introduce yourself to your instructor, or hang out in the lobby after class. Weekend classes are especially great for meeting people because everyone tends to linger a little longer instead of rushing off to work or their next thing.
Come alone. You might not leave that way.
-
It depends on the class! One of the best parts of Fitcidence is that every format and instructor has a different music vibe.
You’ll hear everything from pop, hip-hop, throwbacks, EDM, Latin pop, reggaetón, Afrobeats, and global beats.
If you love pop, hip-hop, and throwbacks, try HYPE Dance Cardio, HYPE Strength, Sculpt, or Barre Sculpt. For EDM, pop, Latin, and hip-hop, try 305 Fitness. For Latin pop and reggaetón, try Dream Dance Cardio or TEMPO. For reggaetón and Afrobeats, try RITMO Perreo & Afrobeats. And if you want hip-hop, pop, Latin, and EDM, try VXN Workout.
The playlists change constantly, so the best way to find your favorite is to try a few.

Yes—with a little consideration for the people around you. You’re welcome to grab a quick video of yourself during class, but please keep your phone out of walkways, avoid filming other guests without their permission, and make sure filming doesn’t interfere with anyone else’s workout.
If you want to film a full routine, create content, or set up a tripod or other equipment, reach out to us first so we can help you find a time and setup that works.
-
That’s completely okay. We occasionally film instructors and classes for Fitcidence social media, but we always try to let the room know before filming and be mindful of guests who don’t want to be on camera.
If you’d rather not be filmed, just tell the instructor or front desk when you arrive. We’ll make sure you know where to stand or adjust what we’re filming so you can focus on class.
-
Right now, Fitcidence does not charge late-cancel or no-show fees. We want to keep taking classes as accessible and flexible as we can.
In return, we ask that you help us keep it that way. If you can’t make it to class, please cancel your reservation through our website or email us at studio@fitcidence.com so we can open your spot for someone else.
No fees. Just be considerate. Let’s work together to keep Fitcidence accessible.
OKAY. YOU KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT.
NOW COME TAKE A CLASS.
Start with two classes for the price of one, or give yourself two weeks to try as many Fitcidence classes as you’d like.
